British artist Tom Fazzini (1960) is excited about the release of his new 7” record Castle On Wheels/Essence. In fact, on his MySpace page he mentions to be “as excited as I was when my first vinyl came out… 28 years ago.” Time for further exploration of this new two track A-side record.
De afgelopen drie jaar is het leven van geboren entrepeneur Nawaz Kazmi (24) in een stroomversnelling geraakt. In 2009 startte hij met broer Sheraz (26) marketingadviesbureau MiU Marketing. Een volle agenda, zou je zeggen. Maar vorige maand studeerde Nawaz ook nog af aan zijn opleidingen Marketing Management en Psychologie, die hij tegelijkertijd volgde. Tijd voor weer een nieuwe uitdaging!
Scott Wainwright is one of those musicians who has tried and will try just about anything. He has performed and made music in bands and duos, he sings, raps, beat boxes, plays just about anything you hand him, makes blues, hip hop, (punk) funk, gospel, country, folk and what not. He also works with such a variety of people, it’s always a surprise who put what song together.

The electronic ambient musician and British poet made the 16 minute long, 6 track counting EP Panic of Looking (November 2011, Warp Records), coming from their recordings that produced father album Drums Between the Bells (July, 2011).
Andrea de Jong (25) studeerde in september 2011 af aan de Hogeschool van Amsterdam met haar opleiding Redactie en Mediaproductie. Deze koffie-addict en taalfreak schreef haar scriptie in Edinburgh, Schotland, voor drie Schotse universiteiten. Hoewel ze nog dagelijks dagdroomt over het halfjaar in dit prachtige land, staat ze sinds haar afstuderen te springen om aan de slag te gaan. ‘Schrijven wil ik.’
When putting up Daymoths album Back in Time, hearing the first tones of Thank You, closing your eyes and just sitting there, wandering off into the organy flows of the first song, you can’t help but see flashes of wide and fragrant forests, dancing girls with long hair and even longer dresses, Pulp Fiction scenes, brown record players and kaleidoscopic pictures. No smoking here.

De druk op mijn schouders om nu, na dik een week in Edinburgh te zijn, een blog te schrijven, is er niet lichter op geworden. Dat was hij na een paar dagen al niet meer, want wat gebeurt hier een hoop in korte tijd. Zeker als je hier vijf maanden komt wonen en nog geen huis hebt. Daarom nu een impressie van mijn eerste paar dagen.
